I'm sorry. Look, despite you being stranded in space on a ship that's inherently hostile with people who don't care about you, everything is going to be fine. You just need to believe it will be, with all your heart. And then the Admiral will make it magically better.

Worse, as in, backsliding from who they are. Were. Being afraid, being resentful. Losing trust. You know, that sort've thing.

I think it does happen to quite a few inmates. There's a young man called David who seems to be a notable example.
