[ Gaius is in his pimp pad slash cabin, all the comforts of his Caprican home despite its demise prior to his arrival. He's more in his element-- adaptation is a wonderful thing-- and surrounded by what can be identified as starcharts, and sheets of paper with diagrams of his own design.
There is also a closed file, quite thick, and a little out of view. ]
It seems I've missed a bit of fun. Sorry, been catching up on some reading.
Going over the last posts, I have to say, I can't fault anyone for the predominant subject matter. It's the most natural thing in the world, and we're hardwired and prog-- [ Gaius pauses, hitching over his turn of phrase, there. Yeesh. ] We're designed to be obsessed over the matter of sex. Built to enjoy it, made to talk about it, and see its possibility in everyone we encounter. Survival, you know -- it's not all blood and guts and natural selection. It can be quite fun, too.
[ Gaius isn't actually affected. He's just joining in. ]
Like I said, I've been reading.
I don't know what it means. These constellations-- they're named after our-- my ancient history. Perhaps it's a tribute. A map. Sorry-- I'm broadcasting this, right. For the uninitiated, I'm a space alien. In a sense.
Maybe we share something after all. Beyond fictions.
[ Locked to Capa. ]
You can have these back now.
[ Locked to Sarah Connor. ]
I've, um--
[ Hesitation, then goes a different direction. ]
Do you reckon you can see if there's any jobs going around for someone like me? There was mention about lab access. I'm assuming you're alright, still, naturally.

A have a lot of data collected from my time about this subject, so if you ever want access to it, you just have to ask.
Private
I'd appreciate it, actually. Have you a database?

[ Rustle pages, Gaius reaching passed the cellphone to pick up some familiar paperwork -- an interstellar cloud on the pages pertaining to the Sagittarius constellation. ]
I keep going back to this one. All of these-- they were charted from Earth? They share your sky?

Which doesn't make an awful lot of sense, my recognising it. Constellations are hardly still things, and it's an awfully narrow angle to share. But then, I suppose, space is quite large. I wish I could remember the distance.
I have some notes [ tips the phone to show off-- Baltar's "notes", which looks like a mess, right now, so when the video feed angles back to him, he has a slight, ironic smile ] if you'd care to give it some thought yourself.
You've no idea how popular I'd be, if I could bring all this home.

Thank you, for the help. Don't suppose you'd have any need for a glorified computer programmer, but you know where to find me if you do.

Can't say I've thought hard about the alternative reality theory, though.

Have you spoken to one of the Doctors or Timelords?
no subject
Oh. I think I spoke to a Timelord, but the conversation became a little heated. As for doctors, a few. There was Crane, and Capa, and you. Maybe some others.
no subject
There's doctors like me, Capa and [sigh]Crane and then there's the Doctors with the capital D that's like their name.
no subject
Then I shan't take it personally.
I can't recall talking to one of them, no, sorry. They well-versed when it comes to alternate dimensions? Not a branch I was ever interested in. A lot of nonsense, I used to think.

Well, the Doctor whom I traveled with lost his... love to one, and she can't come back, so I assume he knows all about them. It used to be easy for them to be crossed between, but things happened.

Things do happen.
