I'm so frakking tired of this.
All of this hideous crashing and banging going on, the temperature fluctuations, the stupid ghosts, and when I finally get to sleep, it's one of those dreams again. What've you lot been doing for them, then? Anyone in the infirmary have anything to help with it?
A horse tranquiliser, maybe. An emergency stiff drink. Graduation, perhaps. I'll not be venturing out for anything frakking less, alright?
...thank you.
[ OOC: No, weird and distressing dreams (more than the usual kind) aren't an October symptom. Yet, anyway. But Baltar is making Assumptions that could stand correction. Tag-back also might be a bit later on but will get to them. ]

Do you... [He hesitates, glancing around. The last time he tried this, it ended badly, and Gaius isn't exactly a criminal mastermind. He bites his lip, thinking for a second, and then lowers his voice.]
[Private -- he's checking]
You didn't tell no one about that thing I hooked you up with, right? My friend Xena?
private.
No, not a word.

[Private]
Yes, Jesse. I've no one I'd care to confess to, and no authority to tattle to. Certainly not my Warden. [ The quotation marks are audible in his tone, around that word. His attitude hasn't changed much. ]
[Private]
But I've got something that might make it easier to, you know, get through the day.
[Private]
And how'd you manage a thing like that? If you don't mind my asking.
[Private]
[Private]
[ Well. It is amazing. Here is Gaius bitching about needing to ask permission to have a beer on occasion or variously crying at the network for coma-inducing sleeping pills, and here's Jesse making drugs somehow. There's a spark of a purely compulsive smile before the reality of it sinks in. ]
You'd do that? Really? I mean-- no, I wouldn't tell anyone, never. [ This seems a saner alternative to hoping to be an amnesiac pirate again, really. ]
[Private]
If you can keep it to yourself... yeah, man, I'll cut you in. I've still got maybe... [There's a pause as he looks at something offscreen.] ...an ounce and a half left? [This is a major lie, but he's not showing his whole hand, here.] A little goes a long way.
[Private]
You may need to educate me some, come to that. I don't even recognise the kinds of alcohol your lot have.
[Private]
You wouldn't happen to have a pipe on you, would you? A glass pipe. [Hey, maybe Gaius's crazy alien species is all about weed or hookah or whatever, he doesn't know. Somehow, the Admiral didn't see fit to migrate one of Jesse's pipes over for him.]
[Private]
No, sorry.
[Private]
Let me know when you want a taste. I'll bring some by.
[Private]
Cheers.
I'm about to go sleep for something like twelve hours, according to the infirmary, but I'll let you know after the fact.

[ There's that rather belated realisation about what is he doing even but the train's gone out the station, as far as Gaius cares. ]
They'll likely make me take them under supervision, so, no promises.
[Private]
Just... do what you can, I guess. It's not like I can go over there.
[Private]
I will say it wasn't very difficult to arrange. Fortunately, I'm genuinely desperate.
