last voyages // 11. video. no filter except for t-x.

No need to make a fuss, everyone.

[ The video feed mostly shows the interior of a bar, before it angles back to show Gaius Baltar, who is about as undead as anyone else, and has already figured this out. Celebrations are thusly called for. The hand gripping a cigarette is bejeweled with elaborate rings, the same he'd collected from the Disney port - currency is required, after all. Smoke rises for the ceiling around him from when he'd taken an inhale offscreen. ]

We were all dead anyway, weren't we? Except for some've the Wardens, of course. Better luck next time.

[ Gaius, losing it a little?

That would never happen. ]

If anyone wants to find out if we can still get plastered, you're welcome to join me. Considering the amount of bars about the place, one can only assume there's still a market for it. Unless you're off on your little quests, then I suppose I'll see you in the real afterlife, eventually.

[ And cut. ]

[ OOC: Open to network and spam both! Threadjacking and time-waved new threads are both splendid. He'll be here all night. :| ]

[Arkady showed up eventually, puffing for air from having to walk the whole way. Her usual cheeriness was utterly gone; eyes dull and downcast, lips trembling. She twitched a little smile of greeting as she approached.]

I hate how we keep meeting under these less-than-ideal circumstances.

That is true, I just wish it wasn't. You're an interesting person.

I think I need tequila by this point.

[She settles onto a stool near his and sighs.]

I had no idea that life without telepathy is so...lonely. I can't feel the interconnectedness of all things anymore. I just have to have faith in it.

Yes, I am an actual true telepath. Normally. Right now...it's so strange. Normally, without prying into people's thoughts, I still can feel them on a whole different layer of knowing. I know your mind shines in its complexity even when I don't know its contents. George's goodness warms me from across the room. People have...another dimension than they do...now.

[She takes her shot like a pro, knocking it back as soon as it is set before her.] Thanks for this.

There are three big reasons I don't. [She knocks on the bar and the bartender brings more shot.] First off, it's wrong not to knock when you come onto someone's territory whether it's physical or mental. Second, it's a good way to really upset someone and make them hate you. And also, well, both back home and here there are other people around who won't stand for it.

It depends on the people. Some minds are brilliantly interesting. Others, it's like watching bad reruns on the telly. Nothing original. [She knocks back a second shot, seeming a touch more relaxed.]

Oh, one gets used to them. And around the Barge I don't get as much of the "scary freak" as I do "amusing hippie airhead girl". Neither of which are actually that accurate, but people's images of themselves are usually off the mark as well.

I suppose. [She grimaces slightly at the taste of her drink.] Though for me sympathy has never been a problem. Not since I was fifteen.
