the last voyages // 5. video. no filter (t-x is included due to filter-fail).

I'm so frakking tired of this.

All of this hideous crashing and banging going on, the temperature fluctuations, the stupid ghosts, and when I finally get to sleep, it's one of those dreams again. What've you lot been doing for them, then? Anyone in the infirmary have anything to help with it?

A horse tranquiliser, maybe. An emergency stiff drink. Graduation, perhaps. I'll not be venturing out for anything frakking less, alright?

...thank you.

[ OOC: No, weird and distressing dreams (more than the usual kind) aren't an October symptom. Yet, anyway. But Baltar is making Assumptions that could stand correction. Tag-back also might be a bit later on but will get to them. ]

We do, but it's not something to give out lightly, Gaius. It's only a stopgap measure, and you should know it's magical based. It will work, though.

How long has it been since you've been sleeping?

There's the concern of dependency if it goes on for too long, but that's one of the reasons that we don't let people have it more than a few nights.

Other than that, no one has experienced anything other than twelve uninterrupted hours of sleep.

Alright, come into the infirmary and pick one up then, yeah?

[The infirmary was a hotbed of activity at the moment, with people dealing with the death toll coming in and needing attention, in addition to the nature of people who have been burned or frozen as well. When there's a knock, Martha looks up from what she's doing and offers a slightly-distracted smile. Normally, Martha would put up much more of a struggle on this, but given how bad things were, and how bad they were likely to get she was willing to make an exception. ]

Hello Gaius. Step into my office?

[Martha responded once they were inside the glass fishbowl that was her office.] It's alright, normally I'd wait a few days but with the way the month is going...

[Martha sighed for a moment and then shrugged.] I don't envy myself this job at the moment.

[She turned her back to him and pressed her hand against the wall for a moment. There was a clicking sound the security system opened. When Martha turned back, she had a small bottle in her hand.]

I have to insist you take it here, I'm afraid. You'll have time to get back to your room before you fall asleep, however.

I'm afraid so. It could be dangerous in the wrong hands. [Martha hands it to him with a small smile.]

Talk to Sev, that's Severus, rather, he'll be able to explain it better than I could. But I trust it, and have taken this potion myself on multiple occasions.

That's a dose. Twelve hours of sleep. [Martha didn't add that it was some of the best sleep that she'd ever gotten--it would almost seem to cheapen his suffering in her opinion.]

[Martha waited until he was finished, and then she held out her hand for the bottle.]

Let me know tomorrow how well you slept, alright?

You'll be fine getting back, but I could walk you if you wish.

[She had time, she decided. At the very least she could make time.]

I'd prefer it if you didn't end up here because you passed out in a hallway and was drowned in a sudden thunderstorm or buried in a squall.

[Martha grinned at him, clearly making a joke.]
